Junko Vasconcellos, 79, of Hilo, died July 5 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired licensee practical nurse for Hilo Medical Center.

She is survived by son, Shane (Kathy Milliken)Vasconcellos, of Hilo; daughters, Shawn (Steve) Humphers, of Hilo, Terri (Peter) Cabreros, of Keaau; sister, Sets Furukado, of Hilo; brothers, Yoshiaki (Betty) Hamamoto and Samson (Eunice) Hamamoto, both of Hilo; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
